The Wishing Chair

Status- Completed, 2012

Location- Shahpur Jat, New Delhi

A home store, named after the famous Enid Blyton book, is a design exercise in the assembly of varied motifs and moods, an eclectic assembly of image and space to recreate a certain stylized nostalgia of an era that never was. Yet young at heart, and fun.

A place a girl wishes for - decidedly feminine. The design revolves around a very careful articulation and division of space, and the intervention of very identifiable architectural elements to achieve a space of  spatial strength. This space was then populated with ideas that reinforced the eclectic theme that runs through both store and the merchandise.

An exercise in the conventional and the completely unconventional. From blank paper to finish store was built in a period of 3.5 months.
